Prayer Notes January 2022

On Saturday 15 January, at 4:30 pm, we will have our monthly English Ministry Prayer Meeting. These Prayer Notes are prepared for you to pray with and for us.
If you want to join our prayer meeting on Zoom, please contact minister Kam Yin.

Peter 91:1-2
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

When we start our time of prayer, let us declare our trust in our God, who is our refuge and fortress. To cultivate our trust we should take time to dwell in the presence of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Let us quiet our hearts, recall the mighty deeds we have experienced in the Almighty, so our trust is strengthened.
Let us start our time of prayer declaring our trust in God, the Almighty One.

Pray for places in the world:

  • Philippines
  • Myanmar; Kazakhstan

  • Pray for wisdom for teachers for ECSS now we are online again.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. (Psalm 91:9-10)

Send some support to the Philippines

As many of you know, the typhoon Rai has caused many casualties and severe damage in the Philippines. For sisters who are part of our congregation, the damage is in material sense, they are very thankful that their families are safe. We will prepare boxes with clothes to send over to the Philippines. Participate by bringing clothes in good and clean condition back in the coming 2 weeks! You can leave the goods in room 701 in HoG.
The distribution of the goods will be done in partnership with Binulig Fellowship Baptist church (Rena’s home church).

You can also sign up to pay for the transportation of the packages, please contact Maria Kong for your contribution.

For more information, please contact Minister Kam Yin.

Adult Sunday School

On Sundays after the Worship Service at 11:45 am there is an Adult Sunday School Class in room 101. This Sunday we still start with the study of the book of James, so this is an invitation for all who are interested.

50% Capacity allowed in Chapel!

Following the relaxed rules for social distancing we are thankful to be able to have more seats in Chapel for our Sunday Worship Service. The seats will still be more spaced out than the pre-COVID-19 situation, we will not pass the collection bags and we will not serve any refreshments. Please be patient and gracious if we miss any precautions and give us insights of how we can do things better! We are all learning to be church in a distanced but still redeemed world of God!

In order to act responsibly under the current circumstances we ask your attention for the following:

– If you have any symptoms of the flu, are currently waiting for the test result of a COVID-19 test, have a weak health, have travelled abroad in the last 14 days or do not feel comfortable to come to the worship service, please remain at home. Our Service will still be on live-stream!

– Please wear a mask at all time being inside the church building

– Remain at a distance of at least 1 metre from other persons

– Please come in time, preferable 10-15 minutes earlier, because we need to take some extra measures: we need to take your body temperature and we will also provide alcohol based handrub at the entrance. The church can provide you with a personal QR code for easier registration upon entrance. If you do not have this yet, please let our ushers know.

– Bring your own Bible, we will not provide any for you to use

We will only have 50 seats in our sanctuary. If we have more than 50 people, we have other rooms to watch the livestream.

Besides these points, we trust you to remain vigilant for your own personal hygiene.

Quarantine with Jesus!

Christian faith takes Jesus’ promise in the Bible seriously, when His last words in the gospel of Matthew are: “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” In this period of physical isolation, we hope this booklet helps you to experience God’s presence.

It is exciting to see relaxation of quarantine rules but with “21 Encounters with Jesus” you can start a habit to read the Bible and encounter God in your daily routine. May this booklet be a blessing for this season in your life!
