English Ministry has a range of meetings in April surrounding Easter:
Good Friday – 7 April 18:00
We will gather to remember Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross. This evening service will also serve Communion. Prepare your heart for worship.
Easter Sunday – 9 April 9:45
Our regular Sunday Service will be a big celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. Join us in a special celebration, also with sharing from multiple brothers and sisters. The service will be longer than our regular Sunday Service (until around 11:30). We also will have a time of fellowship over lunch, just here in Chapel. Please sign up for this Church Family Lunch.
While we need some time for setting up for lunch, we aim to start the lunch at 12:15.
Baptism Service – 16 April 14:00 (50 Caine Road)
After a regular Sunday Service on 16 April, we have 5 brothers and sisters getting baptized in the afternoon of 16 April. All are invited to witness this special occasion!
After the Baptism Service we will have a reception in House of Grace, 3F, with opportunity to congratulate our new church members.
Mark your calendars in April!
On Sunday 26 March at 12:45 there is the Monthly Meeting for Church Members. All Church Members are invited for this meeting in the Main Church Building, 50 Caine Road. The meeting is in Cantonese.
Passing Offering Bags
Next Sunday 12 March we will resume passing the offering bags in the worship service. This is not about what we give financially. In this part of the liturgy, we want to express our attitude of offering to God what He has given to us, and allow room for bringing the offering physically. Please do not feel obliged to put money in, just because of the passing bag. Let our worshipful heart regulates our hands.
Every Thursday evening the Church has a prayer meeting for the whole church (in Cantonese). This month on Thursday 16 March at 19:30 the Prayer Meeting will be led by the English Ministry (partly in English). All are invited to come and pray together! We will meet on 9F in the Main Church Building, 50 Caine Road. (Connect Group will join this Prayer Meeting.)
The monthly Prayer Meeting of our congregation is on Saturday 18 March at 16:00, in room 701 HoG. Please join us in prayer. If you have any prayer requests, please contact minister Kam Yin.
On 26th February Sunday at 12:45 there is the Monthly Meeting for Church Members. All Church Members are invited for this meeting in the Main Church Building, 50 Caine Road. The meeting is in Cantonese.
Starting from today 5th Feb, we will have refreshments after the service!
Anyone who is willing to prepare simple snacks for Sunday mornings, please contact Wendy Ip to coordinate it.
Young Teens Sunday School Class
Starting now we will have our Young Teens Sunday School Class join our Worship Service once a month. Please welcome them in our worshiping family and may we learn to grow together.
New Fellowship Group for Brothers
With God Father’s gracious love, HKBC English Congregation has been established since 2016. While the congregation is blessed to have different activities to cater for various groups of members, including the young teens, youth, gospel seekers, new believers etc, time has come to start a Fellowship focus on the spiritual and support for brothers.
Romans Chapter 12: 2 said “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. “
The good news is that we can achieve the above with encouragement and by leveraging the strengths of the others. Romans 12:4-5 “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
Brother fellowship is designed for brothers who have begun his working life and beyond. Brothers in the congregation are all invited to join. The first meeting of the Brother fellowship will start in March 2022. Details will be made available in the next one to two weeks.
Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please contact Minister Xander.
